Hard to Understand, but Works Well if Used Right

I work in Lightroom, and am using this to find similars and duplicates.

At first, I struggled with this app, becuase I didn’t understand how it works. I wasted almost two entire days by using this app. I, unwittingly, tagged a great number of photos as ‘Rejects’. The issue being that I didn’t understand the meaning of ‘Resolve Group’. Well, for anyone who’s wasted ½ as much time as I have, here’s the answer. Resolve Group means that any photo that’s not a ‘Pick’, will become a ‘Reject’. It doesn’t mean that you reject all that you want to keep, then ‘resolve the group’ removes it from the queue of duplicates/similars.

After getting everything back in order, I started over, and tested how well this works with Lightroom. It seems to work just fine, as long as I select the ‘keepers’ as ‘picks’, and then ‘resolve group’.

Another note… The app is optimized to use keyboard shortcuts, rather than a mouse. So, whenever you start using the app, try to leave the mouse alone and you’ll save yourself alot of time trying to switch views, scroll to the next group, ect.

The interface has an annoying animation, every time a group is ‘resolved’, which eats up a couple seconds every time. This should be optional, as it slows down my workflow significantly.

Also note, Snapselect creates copies of your photos in it’s working folder, which is what it shows you in the app. It doesn’t just refer to the original photos. If you’ve got 15GB of duplicates/similars, expect to temporarily lose 15GB of space on your drive.
