Photos app not included

hey Apple already moved iPhoto to Photos… so your app is USELESS untill upgrade to support Photos. thanks. Best

Not working with Photos library

I’m trying to scan my Photos Library but it looks like there’s an issue. It doesn’t show any picture and there’s an error message. I looks like the App doens’t has support anymore and it’s not even being sold or has some info at MacPhun LLC Website

when will the new photo app be supported

can’t select the new photo catalogue, that’s why I rated it with one star. Once updated it deserves a rating of 4-5 stars

DOES NOT SUPPORT NEW PHOTOS APP!

Completely useless if you’re using „Photos" from Mac OSX 10.10.3 as Snapselect doesn’t support it. Even if you selected to store the full resolution pictures on your Mac. Would have been nice if developers noted that in App description :(

seems to work but needs urgent update

Hi, gave it a shot as the app was “free to celebrate mother’s day” (nice idea). Found that it’s currently unusable as neither .photoslibrary nor .migratedphotolibrary catalog folders are supported: I can’t select them individually & they’re skipped when selecting the containing folder. Please add support for these a.s.a.p. Other than that the app did find duplicated among my pics not included in such special folders so I guess it’s basically working as advertised.

Too Slow

Great concept but painfully slow. It takes far too long to even delete a similar image.

Really Useful

Just started working with this app. I have 1000s of photos, many of which I thought I had deleted, but discovered I have not. Also I could not find some of my high-res images, and this app found them. Thanks goodness. Easy to sort through. Could be a little faster to resolve a group, but it’s not as bad as previous revewer said. I am using Yosemite OS on newish MacbookPro, so that probably make a difference in processing speed. One request to developer is to make it possible to select and delete multiple groups at a time, not just one group. I hope to see that capability in a future update.

Fake Reviews

So after reading the Macphun website and the glowing reviews, apparently from a screen shot of the app store, I downloaded this. I went to ‘add catalog’ and it wouldn’t open my iPhoto library. So, I tried to drag and drop it to the window, which did work. I have 45,000 photos in my iPhoto and Snapselect has just displayed an unchanged ‘progress’ bar that says ‘loading images from catalog’ for the last hour. Now I see here that the reviews on their website aren’t here at all - so their screen shot is faked and obviously so are the reviews. I’ll let it run over night, but I’m sure glad I have a Time Machine backup in case this flaky app eats my library… I’ve had similar bad experiences with other ‘duplicate detectors’ that claim to work with IPhoto/Aperture libraries… Update… let it run over night and it produced over 999+ duplicates (or close matches as per it’s filter). That was encouraging. But, first pair I looked at, there is no info on the path or dimensions of either one… you have to pick the photo and it displays a truncated file name/path. But it seems to kick off some process when you select one, as the beach ball comes up for a few seconds. OK, so I picked the one I wanted to delete and hit the X (there are no pop-over tool tips so you have to assume the obvious and guess at the rest). It takes 30 seconds to delete a photo. So… this will make me days… weeks… to use this tool to remove duplicates. This is on a 2012 iMac i7 with 32GB of RAM. So what happens on a Mini or MacBook I can only imagine.

complete hoax

oh my god. doesn’t even work from the first step. $15 down the toilet. Got to be a law in application here.

Long time to delete duplicates

I have to delete duplicates one at a time. So time consuming. I wish I could do batch deletions of pictures

Mine works great...

I own a number of products from MacPhun and find them to be very good. The reviews for Snapselect seem to be less than glowing. Mine runs at a great speed, does cut down the time needed to cull the photos I take and certainly makes my life easier. I will be suggesting my photo club take a look at this product. I am sorry to see so many with such poor results however my copy does exactly what I want it to do, make very fast work of culling photos.

Handy

A well built and handy app. Could use the opportunity of deleting pictures right from the app.

SnapSelect

Does EXACTLY what I wanted it to do. Thanks for giving us this tastey morsel MacPhun!

Helpful!

Very helpful to reduce your photo collections.

FAIL

i have over 5000 photos, i ran it on my photos app, added the catalogue and it only analyzed pics from the last 24 hrs. I realized then, that it was preset to do that and the only option up from that was the infinity symbol, which i then selected, it rescanned and still no older photos came up. relaunched and tried again, each time, it went back to the 24 hr setting…. nothing i did would make it scan anything older. well, i would never scan for dupes every 24 hours and its useless to try to get rid of all the old, duplicately added photos i have. so a fail for this one.

Almost there

This app has a lot of promise: It quickly scans through a large number of photos and lets users find and mark duplicates, with an intuitive user interface. Version 1.0.4 had a glaring omission: Photos loaded from a library (iPhoto, Lightroom, …) could not actually be deleted, which kind of defeated the purpose. However, this has fortunately been addressed in version 1.1. (Review updated)

Great app

This app is very useful! It saves a lot of time.

No Photos app support!

I have converted my Apperture lib to Photos app, and just after learned that SnapSelect, and actually all of MacPhun apps, doesn’t support Photos app. So be careful if you already started to use Photos app.

Its cool, but unuseful if you already has LR or similar.

This App does only one thing that LR doesnt do — looking for similar pictures for delete duplicates. If you have LightRoom you can do the same by manually (if you are not blind of course). All other features LR has as well, like Pick Up or Reject, and more. If you think the App can choose the best pictures among duplicates for you — youre wrong, it cant. If so, no any difference which App youre going to use for this. I give 5 star only for the main feature )

Slow

It’s incredibly slow on a MacBook Pro retina. It takes half a minute to show the photos and another minute to reject a couple and pick one (my iPhoto archive has only 6k photos so I don’t think it’s too heavy to handle). Strange this low level app from such a good developing team
